CREA opens training on parenting skills

CREA, Sept 15, 2017, Dhaka: The society for Community-health Rehabilitation Education and Awareness (CREA) on Friday launched a 3-day training course on parenting skills for 20 short-listed parents and guardians of the children and youth vulnerable to substance abuse.

The free-of-cost training being offered in the CREA conference room in Dhaka is the first of six similar courses scheduled to be held under a project, Instituting Parenting Skills (IPS), undertaken by CREA with financial assistance from UNODC.

Besides training approximately 120 parents and guardians of children and youth vulnerable to substance abuse in the greater Dhaka City, the project offers, among other things, counseling services for critical cases and is conducting an action research on the effectiveness of this intervention.
